Did you know that RTHC is a year-round provider of home repairs for low income, elderly, disabled and veterans in Howard County? We have been busy this summer helping our neighbors in need!
Projects
RTHC helped an elderly Columbia couple, who live in a Columbia outparcel, restore water service to their home. Their well pump failed and they could not afford to replace it. This couple was using bottled water for most of their needs for several weeks before they heard about RTHC. We had their old pump and equipment removed and replaced it with a new system.
An Ellicott City family had a leaking gas valve to their water heater, potentially a very dangerous situation, and RTHC provided that critical repair.
With the help of a Heroes at Home grant from Sears, RTHC was able to make major repairs to the mobile home of a low income Elkridge family. Both homeowners are disabled and no longer physically able to make repairs to their home. RTHC replaced their leaking roof. Water from the leaking roof had damaged their walls and floors also. We did major drywall work in the home, replaced the subflooring throughout the home and installed finished flooring, repaired a damaged shower enclosure, and repaired the steps to their front door.
