Once again, Rebuilding Together Howard County has partnered with the Sears Heroes at Home program to give back to a veteran homeowner in Howard County. 2018 marks the tenth year that RTHC has worked with Sears to help repair and restore the home of a veteran in need.
In 2017, Sears’ Heroes at Home program raised $2.1 million to help Rebuilding Together renovate the homes of military families in need. Thanks for support from Shop Your Way members, customers and associates, Sears has raised more than $23 million since 2007 and helped rebuild more than 1,600 homes, transforming the lives of veterans, active service members and families across the country.
This Rebuilding Day, Saturday, April 28, Rebuilding Together Howard County will provide home repairs for a navy veteran and family in need. Not only is our homeowner a Navy veteran, but his father and brother are both Navy veterans as well. Our biggest project for this family is replacing the roof on their mobile home, which is much-needed. We will also be replacing the floor of the home and repairing a hole in the ceiling.
We Need Your Help to do More
While these repairs are critical for the family, there is still more we could do. Provided we receive additional funding, our volunteers and skilled tradesman could install carpet, vinyl tile, an HVAC heat pump and windows as well as repair electrical work and drywall. Please consider donating to help our veterans here in Howard County.
