Rebuilding Together Howard County is participating in #GivingTuesdayNow, a global day of giving and unity that will take place as an emergency response to the increased need caused by COVID-19. #GivingTuesdayNow will take place on Tuesday, May 5, 2020 and we need your support!
#Nonprofit Matching-Fund Initiative
We are joining the #Nonprofit Matching-Fund Initiative, a collaborative effort of Nonprofit Hub, Do More Good and Firespring created to raise funds for nonprofits affected by the financial crisis related to COVID-19. The initiative includes a national match fund pool and state-level pools for all 50 U.S. states and the District of Columbia. The more funds we raise, the additional matching funds we receive!
Donations are being accepted from April 24th – May 26th, 2020.
Support Your Community During COVID-19
Although we have decided to postpone our National Rebuilding Month volunteer projects until the virus outbreak subsides, we cannot let the threat of COVID-19 prevent older adults, families with young children and people with disabilities from accessing emergency home repairs they need to stay safe in their home during these unprecedented times. Your support can help secure the resources needed to efficiently serve the most vulnerable members of our communities, including help with:
- Repairing leaking roofs
- Installing an AC unit to a bedroom or modifying a home to prevent falls to help neighbors shelter in place safely
- Replacing faulty water heaters
- Performing status checks on seniors and other at-risk clients by phone and helping them access additional resources such as food and medicine
- Providing home repairs so a moderately ill person can come home from the hospital and quarantine at home, which serves to ease the burden on local hospitals
We are committed to making sure that everyone in Howard County lives in a safe home and safe community. Your donation ensures we can continue to help our neighbors during the spread of COVID-19.
